
Award winning luthier Dave Nerad began his career in 1974, building and repairing banjos for the Richelieu Banjo Company in Oregon, Wisconsin.
In 1988, he apprenticed with Bellingham violin maker Ray Bastien (silver medal winner, Violin Society of America, 1992). Since 1994, Dave has been building and repairing violin family instruments at his Bellingham workshop, Pacific Rim Strings.
He is a former member of the British Columbia Violin Makers Association, the Violin Makers of Arizona International, and the Violin Society of America.
Dave is also an accomplished musician, playing guitar, mandolin, banjo and fiddle in numerous
folk dance bands and festivals over the years.
